1 lb of chopped veal (or chicken)
1 onion, diced
Garlic, crushed
1/4 cup of wheat germ (can use bread crumbs)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
2 Tbs of oregano
Brown rice
Sauce:
1 can of tomato sauce
1 can of water
1/2 cup of fat free salsa (optional)
Salt
Pepper
Raisins (optional)
Combine all sauce ingredients and bring to a boil
Mix meat mixture together and form into balls, the less you handle them the softer they will be
Cook in sauce for 1-1/2 hours
Cook rice in salted water
Serve meatballs over rice
